Storing peptides: lyophilisate, cold chain and stability
Lyophilised (freeze-dried) peptides are most stable as a powder, kept cool and dark. General laboratory practice is storage at −20 °C for the longer term, protected from light and moisture. Storage conditions are physical-chemical in nature and say nothing about application.

Why lyophilisate
Freeze-drying removes water to a dry powder. In that form degradation processes generally proceed more slowly than in solution, which benefits shelf life.
Temperature, light and moisture
For longer storage −20 °C is common; keeping it dark and dry helps against degradation. Repeated thawing and refreezing is avoided.
These are general principles of physical-chemical stability, not usage instructions.
What storage information is not
Storage conditions describe how a substance stays physically stable. They are not directions for use: all products are for research only.
